Week 1 Compare/Contrast Paper Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Course Professor Date Week 1 Compare/Contrast Paper Stress, one of the unavoidable elements of human presence, has long been explored by various psychologists, trying to validate the most appropriate coping mechanisms to address stress events. This paper examines different models of Freud, Jung, Kubler-Ross, Frankl, Dyer, Buscaglia, and Seligman, identifying the most significant theory with the best coping mechanism to address stress among individuals. Freud's theory emphasizes individuals' instincts and how such instincts might lead them into states of stress. He believed that individuals preserve a level of strain that emerges from internal and external sources, which attack people's ego or identity. Such egos or individualities force individuals to display resistance mechanisms in the form of “denial, repression, projection, rationalization, and displacement” (Seligman & Pawelski, 2003). Fred's theory likely observes how patterns of relational issues significantly contribute to tension (Seligman & Pawelski, 2003). Jung, on the other hand, explores how self-discovery and recognition might prevent stress. His method emphasizes how childhood practices might also lead to negotiation. Jung also points out that individuals hold a particular level of distinctive pressures or cognitive tension between their “conscious and unconscious” minds and their interaction problems (Madeson, 2024). Therefore, his stress management might combine and support an improved agreement and comprehension between the conscious and unconscious mind. Kobler-Ross psychological theory provides that stress can be stimulated over the death of unmet prospects, which leads to adverse mental processes. Such progressions include "denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance" (Kübler-Ross Foundation, 2017). Resolving emotional turmoil leads individuals to the last point, acceptance, which improves internal peace.
