For this week’s Discussion, you will select a topic pertaining to correctional psychology that is consistent with your interests and/or career goals. You will address the challenges faced by correctional staff in that context and explore how the use of an ethical decision-making model can help forensic psychology professionals provide solutions to ethical challenges within corrections. Review this week’s Learning Resources to better understand the roles and responsibilities of forensic psychology professionals in correctional settings. Based on your professional interests, choose one of the following topics that pertains to correctional psychology: Assessment and Treatment of Offenders Ethical Issues in Correctional Settings Offender Program Evaluation Offenders With Mental Health Problems Review the article(s) associated with the topic you selected from this week’s Learning Resources, and then select one article on which to focus for this Discussion. Review the ethical decision-making model by Pope and Vasquez in Steps in Ethical Decision-Making, from this week’s Learning Resources, to better understand how forensic psychology professionals can assist with the challenges faced by correctional staff.
