What Is Your Role As A Healthcare Team Member?

Professional Identity and Stewardship 2 Students Name Institutional Affiliation What is your role as a healthcare team member? My role is to maintain a leadership strategy as per my power in supporting the medical staff to ensure that they are providing quality care to our patients and ensuring they experience positive patient care. I have been applying different leadership strategies to ensure that there is a conducive work environment which will, in turn, reflect the good quality healthcare to be accorded to the patients. How do you define professionalism and how does professional responsibility influence your work? According to me, professionalism has to do with the behavior that one exults to another; putting aside personal thoughts and feelings and focusing on the goal of the job, which can be providing patient care, maximizing a patient experience to one of a positive level, communicating in a positive and effective manner with integrity. A combination of such abilities improves the quality of healthcare being provided to the patients. In addition, patients prefer to be attended to by a nurse who presents professional traits rather than one who does not. I am keen about the appearance of a nurse while presenting to a patient and hence, I ensure that every nurse is wearing the correct attire during the working hours. This is part of the professionalism because a patient should be able to identify the nurse that has attended to them. As well, it is defined by the manner in which each of the employees relates with one another in the workplace. There should be no chaos but rather the promotion of a conducive work environment in order to be able to provide the patients with the best healthcare possible.
