Module 4 ENGL Evaluation Essay Rough Draft

Assignment Overview This rough draft and peer review assignment allow you to submit and have at least two classmates review your writing. Directions Upload your current rough draft to this assignment link. On time submission (NO LATER THAN 11:59PM ON 2/11) of the draft is necessary to be assigned a peer to review your essay. There is no makeup for peer review if you do not submit your rough draft on time. Once you have ensured submission of your rough draft, in Module 5 you will complete the peer review. The following bullet points detail the information to complete the peer review. After you upload your rough draft no later than 11:59pm on February 11th, you will be automatically assigned two essays to review for peers. These reviews can be accessed by following the steps listed below. Keep in mind the peer review will begin in Module 5. Once the peer reviewers have reviewed your essay, you can access their feedback using this same assignment link. More information about how to access your feedback can be found below. Please keep in mind that peer review is not a swap. You might review an essay for someone other than the peer who is reviewing your essay. All decisions about your essay are yours. If you disagree with your peer reviewer, you are not required to implement any of their suggestions. The choice is yours, as is the grade. Items to Think about as You Peer Review: (in Module 5) In your review, be sure to read the whole essay and use the following (taken from the rubric on the assignment sheet) for guidance: No first or second person In the correct mode (evaluation) The subject must be a product (not a service or an experience - for the sake of this essay you may evaluate a movie or TV show as a product) 750-words long or 2-4 pages No secondary research Price cannot be a criteria Criteria are applicable to anything in the same category Word Choice - Good word choice considers the denotation and connotation of the word. It can also help an essay achieve the desired tone throughout. Spelling, punctuation, and grammar Flow Clarity and Conciseness Judgment about the product being evaluated The thesis lets the reader know what the essay is about and a general idea of how the writer is going to take them there Intro establishes the context, category, and subject for the evaluation essay (in that order) Topic sentences for every paragraph I would like the essay to be about the movie Twilight starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
