What do you think about this week's readings' take on leadership?
The week's readings are informative because they direct us to understand the whole leadership concept. Concerning this week's reading on leadership, it is evident that leadership has been a point of discourse among different scholars in theirs quest to explain the meaning, nature, and scope of leadership. Leadership as an academic discipline is a complex topic, and this makes different academicians define it differently. Leadership is both a process and a trait (Northhouse, 1999). As the trait views people as possessing specific characteristics like height, fluency in speaking, and intelligence that are inborn with them to qualify to be leaders (Sarros, Cooper, & Santora, 2007). As the process, leadership is seen as the practical skills to be given authority to assume specific organizational roles towards achieving set goals. Centrally, leadership is seen as a process that can be learned as well as given to everyone. Leadership is seen as the mutual responsibility of both leaders and their subjects (Sarros, Cooper, & Santora, 2007). In this vein, my take is that leadership should involve the power to impact others and aim to attain a similar objective. It should also be nurtured based on the involvement of all people within policy formulation frameworks. Accordingly, leadership traits can be grouped into three dimensions, including universalism, benevolence, and transformation.

The leadership approach that speaks in my mind today is transformation because it matches how the whole leadership model should be organized.
