This activity emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation of people, which are all essential goals of care. It is considered an autonomous function of the nursing profession and is of great relevance. Patient education and emphasis on high-quality care influence patient satisfaction and empowerment where patient needs and expectations are prioritized (Yeh, Wu & Tung, 2018). Focus on offering safe and high-quality care to meet the patient's health needs and that of their families while respecting the patients' rights. The interview is based on the experience of a 55-year old family friend with diabetes type II, who addresses her experience with patient care.
The patient was satisfied with the patient education services as there was personalized education that emphasized knowledge of care, treatment, and self-care. As part of patient care, there was a focus on obtaining information about the patient that allows the nurses and patient educators to know what care is needed and planning. To determine the needs of patient care, there is a need to use information from different sources.
