An effective approach to building self-awareness is to reflect on experiences of success or failure to learn about what worked or did not work in your communication, negotiation, and collaboration with internal and external colleagues.
Write a 525- to 700-word summary that examines the results of your efforts to solicit professional recommendations.
Consider the following:
Identify those to whom you reached out and their relationship to you. Who responded, and what did they have to say?
Examine the recommendations. Do you think the professional characterizations accurately reflect how you view yourself as a professional? Explain your response.

Soliciting Recommendations
I really put in much effort to gather professional recommendations. In my efforts, I was able to reach a variety of groups, including my previous employer, my current employer, and my college instructor. I used LinkedIn and direct email, and I was able to reach six professionals who have been significant in my career journey. Among all the solicitations that I sent, I am grateful that I was able to receive two out of the three, which translates to 66.67% for recommendations—both my former and current employer provided great information, which reflects how I view myself as a professional. My former employer recommended that I am an outgoing person who always tries my best to ensure that work is done beyond expectations. That is who I really am; my philosophy is usually based on the fact that commonality is a disease, and I try my best to ensure that I am as creative as possible when working on a task. My current employer was able to recommend me for being a person who has analytical prowess and high-level critical thinking. In general, when I tried to examine the recommendations that I received, I believe that they truly reflect my professional persona. All the recommendations, in general, touched on my strengths, such as effective communication, adaptability, strong leadership skills, and critical thinking abilities. However, I believe that there is still a need for growth because none of them touched on my strategic thinking capabilities, thereby making me think that maybe I am not yet there to become a strategic thinker.
Again, I was not able to get a recommendation from my college instructor. I believe that maybe my college instructor was not able to see my recommendation request due to various factors, including time constraints or unfamiliarity with digital platforms like LinkedIn. Additionally, I think that in case he was able to see my solicitation and not answer, maybe he must have felt that I was not sufficiently acquainted with my professional capabilities for him to provide me with a substantive recommendation. However, this exercise, in general has been substantial to me as it has made me learn a lot.
