In this milestone, submit a proposal outlining the product/service you want to bring to market. It is an American multinational corporation that operates chains of not only grocery stores and hypermarkets but also discounts department stores. It was established over 50 years ago and has since grown and expanded to become the largest retail outlet in the world. With revenue of over $514 billion and more than 2.2 million employees serving in various capacities, Wal-Mart is considered as one of the largest companies and private employer respectively (Wal-Mart.com, 2020). It is estimated that there close to 12000 stores worldwide offering various products and services including electronics, games, home and furniture, clothing, footwear, health and beauty, Wal-Mart Money Card, and Financial Services among others (Wal-Mart.com, 2020). These brick and mortar stores provide the retail giant with a strong physical presence that is giving competitors such as Amazon sleepless nights and a run for their money. For instance, Wal-Mart stores in the US are barely 10 miles apart and as such, provide locals with utmost convenience in shopping. Wal-Mart is a publicly traded company in the NYSE and trades under the name WMT. It also trades under the same names in the Dow Jones, S&P 100 and the S&P 500 (Wal-Mart.com, 2020). Since its inception, the retail mogul has kept true to its mission of saving people money so that they can live better through offering cheap but quality products and services. As of early 2020, Wal-Mart’s net income was $14.8 billion; total assets were $236 billion and total equity $74 billion.
