1 Name and explain two ways that AIDS and genital herpes are alike. Explain how they differ in the course of infection.
Two things resemble between genital herpes and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS. First of all, sexual contact is the means of transmission for both AIDS and genital herpes. Human immunodeficiency virus causes AIDS through sexual contact, just as the Herpes Simplex virus causes genital herpes. The effect on the immunological system is another way these infections are comparable. While HIV directly affects people's immune systems, which results in HIV if left untreated, HSV can also cause breakouts that compromise skin integrity, which facilitates HIV's entry into the body should it be exposed. This means that because of their compromised immune systems, those with genital herpes run the danger of getting HIV and vice versa (Herpes vs. AIDs: Connection, Symptoms, Prevention 2023).
Conversely, these two infections are different in the following aspects. First of all, HIV progresses differently. It could manifest as flu-like symptoms, then go a protracted time without symptoms. Untreated, it can develop into AIDS, which is marked by a profound immune system failure and opportunistic infections. Conversely, vaginal herpes results in sporadic episodes of excruciating blisters and, although it stays in the body forever, usually does not produce a systemic deterioration of the immunity. Furthermore, antiretroviral therapy (ARP) can be used to cure AIDS depending on the management and treatment since it reduces the virus's strength to undetectable levels and stops the virus from progressing to IADS. Conversely, antiviral drugs like acyclovir help to manage genital herpes by lowering the frequency and intensity of the outbreaks (Herpes vs. AIDs: Connection, Symptoms, Prevention 2023).
2 Name and explain four sexual activities or practices that involve no risk or significantly reduced risk for sexually transmitted infection transmission.?
Many activities exist in which people engage, yet they either carry no risk or lessen the possibility of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Since body fluids are not exchanged during reciprocal masturbation, for example, there is no chance that STIs may spread. Another technique free of STI risk is dry humping or frottage. When people frottage or dry hump, they rub their bodies against one another with clothes. Since there is no interchange of bodily fluids or direct skin-to-skin genital touch, the transmission of STI is, therefore, very low. Besides, simply kissing ...
