What sampling strategy do you intend to use, and why?
* The study will be using a simple random sampling in choosing the sample that is representative of the population from which it is selected. In this sampling technique, bias is avoided as all the participants in the target population will have an equal chance of being selected. The researchers will obtain a list of students who are diagnosed with depression in a period from (insert time period e.g. January 2020 – December 2020) from (insert place where you will get the list e.g. university clinic / hospital) after obtaining their permission upon recruitment.
What sample size do you intend to achieve?
* Assuming the prevalence (p) of depression to be 26.2% as reported in a previous study (Naushad, et al, 2014), with a margin of error (d) of 5% and 95% confidence interval, sample size will be calculated as:
