In week 6 we will explore common Neurological and Musculoskeletal system disorders. You do not have a discussion forum for week 6, rather, you will spend the week working on your week 6 assignment. For this Assignment, you will create a 1-page fact sheet that details important considerations for both the pathophysiology and pharmacology for potential prescription drugs used to treat the disorder you selected (see assignment guidelines/rubric for further details). Also see Key Points Announcement.
Use your Resources to support your explanations. Use proper APA formatting and references. Scholarly references are required for written assignments. For Assignments: Support each section of the assignment with at least one current scholarly reference- References from the Walden library may be used in addition to the course resource list. A scholarly reference is a reference that is peer reviewed and /or is representative of the best available evidence ( see rubric for further details) Verify peer reviewed references at this link- https://academicguides(dot)waldenu(dot)edu/library/verifypeerreviewLinks to an external site.
There is no standard template for this assignment so I would like for you all to use WORD to create your fact sheet. If you do not have WORD (or Pages) contact me so that I can approve the platform you would like to use. Note: if you do use pages, it must be saved as a PDF then submitted. You will still need to have a title page for this assignment. it is fine to use a template for either a flyer or a brochure. These options can be found in WORD, where you select the type of new document. There is even a report template that can be adjusted and used, or you can simply open a blank document and use a SmartArt Graphic. Any of these is fine and would be appropriate, just remember it IS NOT a paper so I should not see a page of paragraphs that read like a paper. Be creative and use columns or text boxes to present the required information.
Here is an example using SmartArt.

Create a 1-page fact sheet on your selected disorder in which you address the following:
• Briefly describe the pathophysiology of the disorder you selected. Be specific.
• Explain how the maladaptive and physiological responses of the disorder might differ.
• Describe the types of drugs that might be prescribed to patients to treat symptoms associated with this disorder you selected and explain why. Be specific and provide examples. Use the Learning Resources and/or best available evidence from current literature to support your explanation.
Reminder: The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The Sample Paper provided at the Walden Writing Center provides an example of those required elements (available at https://academicguides(dot)waldenu(dot)edu/writingcenter/templatesLinks to an external site.). All papers submitted must use this formatting.
