a.How did you demonstrate mutual respect for, rapport with, and responsiveness to young adolescents with varied needs (academic and developmental) and backgrounds, and challenge young adolescents to engage in learning?
[ I rapport with the young adolescents by first greeting them and introducing them to the subject of the lesson β industrialization and reconstruction as evidenced in the 00:01 marker in the clip. I also used to address each student using their first name to create a good rapport, for example, in the 14:13 marker. I specifically demonstrated mutual respect for students of diverse academic and developmental needs by asking the students to share their perspectives about what comes to their minds when they hear the words industrialization and reconstruction at the 00:20 marker in the clip. The opportunity for students to share their perspectives verbally in a classroom setting reiterated positive relationships and promoted inclusivity in learning, thus fostering an environment of mutual respect. Asking students to share their perspectives about the subject matter helped challenge them to discuss with one another and engage in the learning process. I demonstrated responsiveness by using each studentβs ideas to explain the subject matter further. This made the student feel that their learning capabilities and insights were valued, thus creating a sense of engagement and belonging within the classroom.]
