Positive self-talk enables people to focus on the positive side and motivate themselves. Alternatively, negative self-talk makes people feel bad about their lives and themselves. Therefore, it is essential to embrace different measures, including identifying negative self-talk, evaluating thoughts, and reframing the thoughts that help to change negative self-talk into positive self-talk. To identify negative self-talk a person should determine the running commentary in the head because when the inner voice runs in the background, it influences a person's perception and feelings about themselves and the environment (Griffin & Osborne, 2019). It is also to accept that sometime the inner voice may be wrong. Many people, particularly those who experience depression, have an inner voice that thinks negative things.
Furthermore, another process of transitioning from negative to positive self-talk involves evaluating the thoughts. A person is responsible for every compartment of the mind. Thus, if an individual cannot take the rightful responsibility and design the mind alone, the world would program for him or her. People should try to find solutions because failure keeps them snooping for that truth kernel. A person should begin by asking if every thought they have is beneficial rather than true.
