There is a calming feeling and aura that comes with prayer. While in prayer, one connects with God and shuts their eyes and ears to the world. At that moment, it matters little who wronged you, who yelled at you, who made you feel useless, or who saw it right to ruin your day. Everything quietens down as we slowly continue to go deeper in prayer. For me, what stands out in prayer is invocation, adoration and praise, thanksgiving, and listening to God. A thin line separates listening to God and meditation. In both, you let go off your bodily impulses and travel to another world and become aware of your thought process.
