Religion can be defined as a set of cultural systems, beliefs and views that relate humanity to spirituality and moral values and universally agreed by a group of people. Civilization is the way people`s life gradually improved from being conservative concerning culture and moral values. Over time, religion has caused civilization in humankind. Human way of life has greatly changed in all areas such governance, philosophy, and social life. Islam and Christianity therefore, have contributed greatly in the civilizations especially in the area of governance.
In particular, religion has acted a big catalyst of change in the human governance. As seen in the Byzantine Empire, religion has caused changes in the approach of governance.
