Honor and Integrity
Honor and integrity are common terms that are applied in all disciplines and places in life. Having honor means recognizing the value and importance of oneself in any given circumstance. On the other hand, integrity means adhering faithfully and honestly to the set rules and principles. Having interacted with many people at school and in public, I have realized that most people always appear to have honor so that the world admires them. They forget that the real advantage of being honorable and having integrity is modeling how people view themselves rather than how other people view them. Living with integrity ensures that one does not have to worry about being inconsistent or strains to account for their words or actions. Honor and integrity mean living in authenticity and confidence.
Having honor and integrity means that I recognize myself for who I am. I know the values I aspire to have, and the people around me are always confident, knowing that my intentions and actions are always genuine. I am always ready to compromise my perceptions and viewpoints but never my principles. Secondly, having honor and integrity means that I am true and genuine with myself at all times. I stay true to what I believe in, and I never mistrust my instincts. Since I understand that I have to live with myself for the rest of my life, I never seek other people’s validation or approval. Thirdly, having honor and integrity means that the company of friends and colleagues I keep is sound and upright. The people I keep around me are my role models with whom we support each other by inspiring each other to become better. We assist each other to grow in honor and integrity.
Having honor and integrity means that I am fully responsible for my personal choices. I understand that every action bears consequences, and I am always ready for all consequences. Having the knowledge of what is right does not count as long as I have not executed the action. Additionally, having honor and integrity means that I am always resilient and strong. I believe that working hard and sacrificing pleasure for growth breeds a good character and contributes to success and happiness. I understand my journey more than anyone else, and therefore, I have to make it happen by all means.
Honor and integrity have defined my life choices and actions immensely. I am able to be empathetic by considering other peoples’ needs before my own. Every choice that I make and every action I take aims to make it easy not only for myself but also for others. I am able to make a positive impact in other peoples’ lives through undefined dedication and determination in my studies and my work. Generally, I live for a cause that is bigger and greater than myself. I believe in honoring my word and fulfilling my promises to people I interact with. I believe that keeping a promise is as important to me as it is to the recipient. My choices and actions in life are centered on doing what is right and being confident while at it.
My Journey of Adversity
My life has seen the better face of adversities, especially because I came from a foreign country. One major blow happened when my house was broken, and my laptop and a few of my essentials were stolen. I had worked very hard to earn and attain the house essentials, which all went away in a single day. It broke my heart to the point that I was considering accepting a job offer in a bar and freaky restaurant where young and hopeless girls worked to earn a living. I had reached my end, knowing that my mum was going through a rough patch in her life, and I was not planning to overburden her with my problems.
Despite the hardship, I decided to rise and work hard in my school and a STEM program I had recently joined. By dedicating my energy and time to my growth, I fulfilled my quench for progress and gained hope that things would be alright and better through my hard work. I excelled well and received motivational gifts that kept me going. I was determined to soar in my medical profession as a physician assistant. I learned that dwelling on problems does not solve anything; instead, it adds to the problem at hand.
Throughout the difficult phase, I ensured that I prioritized my principles and demonstrated immen...
