HSC 10 – Chapter 13 Your Name Subject and Section Professor’s Name April 14, 2025 1 Case Reflection: Rick and Inter-parental Violence As a story shows, children of parents who are exposed to the violence in their homes continue an abusive vibe in their lives. Rick is answerable for his options, however his traumatic past long run ordeal from a dysfunctional house is what makes sense of his conundrums. The emotional neglect, physical mistreatment, and insecure attachment interactions in his childhood were the reason for his inability to be able to manage his emotions or conflicts. Since Rick did not receive any psychological therapy while he was a developing child, surveillance programs should have intervened in Rick’s life before he became an adult. As I graduate from the role of human services professional, I would have supported the establishment of trauma focused therapy programs older than 12 which focuses on providing emotional regulation training, peer bonding and conflict management training. An adult Rick would benefit from attending anger management and couples' counseling that establish certain rules of security. He shows his experience to demonstrate that intervention at any time is necessary before adulthood as the effects of unidentified childhood trauma last a life long and, most importantly, when children can grow to become violent adults under stress. 2 Sexual Coercion vs. Rape Violation of one’s consent is the common factor between sexual coercion and rape, while techniques, as well as definitions, of rape are the two distinct entities. Sexual coercion occurs without physical force exercised by a human on any person, wherein actual acts are directed at a victim to make him or her do deliberate acts of sexual activity against his or her will. When they are vulnerable to forced sexual participation, an individual uses various methods like using threats and guilt or exploits others.
