Ooredoo Kuwait is a telecom company, and part of Qatar based Ooredoo Group. Ooredoo Kuwait is one of the major telecommunication players in Kuwait. Under the BCG matrix, the market share and the market growth rate are considered. Ooredoo Kuwait is in the star category in the BCG matrix with a high market growth rate and market share. Besides Ooredoo, other major players in the mobile telecommunication market are Zain and VIVA, but there are other smaller players (Telecom Review). There has been strong growth in Kuwait' telecom market in the past few years, with digital services and 5G network being major growth drivers.

The threat of new entrants
 Other telecom companies are already operating in Kuwait, with multinational companies offering more competitive services at lower prices. The Ooredoo Group serves a large customer base, and there are threats from both local and multinationals and new technologies. There is a moderate level of threat from new entrants.
