How Bisclavret Follows the Pattern of Transformation From Human to Monster
This assignment will be graded from 0 → 5 based on the thoroughness of your response. Minimum 250 words:
In class this week, I used examples from Beauty and the Beast, the Incredible Hulk, Shakira's "She-Wolf," Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video, and Nicki Minaj's iconic verse on Kanye West's "Monster." What they all have in common is a blurring of the lines between the human and the monstrous, between the civilized and the animal. In every example, a human either fully transforms or adopts animal traits, and each transformation symbolizes the loss of self-control and the emergence of either something dangerous or something "shameful" from within oneself.
For your response, explain in detail how Bisclavret (this week's assigned reading) follows this same pattern. Include what the transformation is, what it symbolizes, and its overall purpose in the story.
The story is very short, so read it and try your best. If you use ChatGPT, I will know.
