Race and class in the American Criminal Justice System
Despite the fact that our criminal justice system is based on equality in regard to the execution of criminal law and upholding the constitution, I still think that our criminal justice system affirmatively depends on inequality. In the case of O. J Simpson who had been accused of the double murder, he was acquitted as the black jury voted in his favor despite the overwhelming evidence against him. This, therefore, is a clear proving of how inequality is portrayed in our criminal justice system along the race. Police disproportionately target at young black men who are less likely to assert their right to say no.
Class is another factor that is so rampant in the decision of the cases in our criminal justice system.
