Napoleonic era and the Industrial Revolution

Name: Professor: Course: Date: Napoleonic Era and the Industrial Revolution Introduction Napoleon played a major role in the French Revolution (1789-1799), was the first consul of France and the first emperor of France (1804-1814). As an emperor his goal was to establish a French dominated empire in Europe and for this reason, he was almost always at war. Napoleon's era brought three major accomplishments namely revolutionary changes, cemented the spread of French revolutionary legislations to major parts of western Europe, and significantly altered the European map (Gusriandari, Ayu and Guntur). This paper explores the expansion of napoleons power, how old powers of Europe restrained ideas of Republicanism and Bonapartism with the concert of Europe, and how industrial revolution ushered in change and its effect on the common man. Expansion of Napoleon's Power Napoleon role to power through the French revolution and the collapse of the French Monarchy. With the collapse of the French monarchy, napoleon eliminated the French directory government and established a French consulate which installed napoleon as the leader. Immediately he got to power, Napoleon was propelled forward through his military victories and political adaptations. As an experienced military personnel, he took advantage of the disarray that arose during the French Revolution (Gusriandari, Ayu and Guntur). Through his military campaigns, Napoleon made France to seize immense territories in Europe and to set up French rule across the conquered regions, and made them to obey their newly established rule of governance. Moreover, he made similar alliances with other European powers such as Austria and Russian whenever necessary, subtly profiting from the conflict of these powers in order to increase his own leadership autonomy. Napoleon also increased his power thro...
