Name Tutor Course Date Sculpture Analysis Introduction The head of a Buddha is a sculpture that represents the external head and body parts of the religious leader Buddha. It was presented to the museum in 1921 by the Marianne Brimmer Fund. The sculpture was chosen to grace the museum because of its realistic nature in representing the facial features of an individual and the existing factors that make it appealing and admirable, such as the existing lighting around it. Had the sculptor been that of an animal or bird, one would need to look for information outside themselves to know more about it. However, since it is of a human head, it makes an individual easily relate with it. The presentation of the sculptor is similar to the representation in a religious setting. The essence in both cases is to make more individuals view and appreciate it. The presentation integrates certain factors, such as realism and perfection. By looking at these factors, one concludes that the sculpture has been presented well in the museum, and the individuals who presented it made consideration of the different aspects of the presentation. Sculpture Analysis The symmetry of the sculpture is a depiction of how it has been presented as an excellent sculpture. The face's left and right sides have similar features, except for the nose that has cracked and fallen away. This analysis will not consider the faulty nose because it does not depict the original carved sculpture. Dividing the sculpture by half results in one having similar features on both sides of the face. The artwork shows that the artist considered the need for perfection when carving out the sculpture. There is no mistake in its flow, and the different facial features are easily identifiable. The sculpture has spots on the different parts of the head.
