Database Security and its Relation to the Bible
In the article in the Learn section, Read: Google Search Test Shows No Progress in Cyber Safety, database security is revealed as the most fundamental part of creating a database, and it is vital to protecting a company’s information assets from unauthorized access. In fact, SQL injections have surpassed almost all other security vulnerabilities in 2013. Although security policies are often implemented to protect data, information security remains every employee’s responsibility. Data in the wrong hands can have a major negative impact on a business, and security of the data ultimately falls on the creator of the database. In this Discussion, discuss the concept of database security as it relates to the Bible. What mandates does God give us with respect to protection of property? What real world examples support these biblical truths?

Database Security and its relation to the Bible
As the world’s population grows daily, more data is created, and increased access to technology is increased. According to Jiang et al. (2018), this ultimately becomes the core of malicious attacks on poorly stored data, where cybercriminals use it unlawfully, damage it, or disrupt important technological operations. Database security (DBS) entails measures to ensure databases remain confidential, available, and handled with integrity (IBM, 2023). The essay will discuss how the concept of DBS relates to the Bible. In addition, it will address the mandate God gave humankind to property protection. Further, real-world examples will be sought to support the biblical truths.
The Bible emphasizes the importance of DBS by urging and influencing people to protect information and data. In Proverbs chapter 11 verse 13, the Bible highlights how a gossiper betrays confidence while a trustworthy person keeps a secret (You Version, 2023). This is a rich example of how the Bible values DBS. Therefore, Christians are urged to keep information and data confidential and refrain from sharing it with others. In the book of Matthew, chapter 7, verse 12, Jesus says that people should always do to others what they wish to be done to them (You Version, 2023). In this regard, people should take care of other people’s information and data, just as they would wish theirs to be kept. Instead of going around and announcing other people’s confidential data, one should optimize silence and modesty and refrain from wrecking others using their tongues.
