In a Forbes article titled, “3 payment innovation trends that will evolve e-commerce,” Wertz delineates the major Fintech innovations that would continue to reform diverse operations within the e-commerce industry. This article relates to the diffusion of innovation by offering an impetus to understand the factors that would impact the rate at which the Fintech innovations would spread across the e-commerce industry to achieve optimal adoption. Although Wertz argues that consumers are increasingly becoming comfortable with online solutions for making payments and shopping, it is unlikely that Fintech and payment solutions would make these online transactions frictionless and much easier overnight (Wertz, 2019).
