  1. Discuss writing as a healing tool, in a personal context and in a context of sexual violence (3 points)

Writing is a potentially useful tool when victims are conflicted because of the pain and shame that they experience. Individuals can document their innermost thoughts and connect with a bigger network who offer support as they share ways to move forward. Furthermore, writing therapies help to facilitate self-expression, which is helpful as the victims of sexual violence may experience isolation and stigmatization.
2.
Identify the differences between restorative and transformative justice and what distinguishes them both from criminal justice (3 points)

  • In the criminal justice system, restorative Justice starts from the premise that crimes harms the victims’ physical and psychological health needs that to be restored in the case of transformative justice, there is focus on treating the root causes, promoting social needs and the survivor needs.

  • There are many false rape reports and cases

Studies show that the prevalence of false rape allegations is low between 2% and 10% (NSVRC, 2018). Reports n few false rape claims have been used to discredit the legitimacy of rape victims’ narratives and even blame the victims.
