When a restaurant makes customers spend more, the ideals of transparency and fairness are greatly compromised. Restaurants should protect consumers by ensuring fair market prices. The effects of the lack of transparency/ fairness may be a situation where customers feel lied to. When customers experience deception, their trust levels are likely to reduce. The consequences of this manipulation may vary greatly. It may make some customers spend more than they had purposed to. Further, customers may be unhappy, for they may feel that an external force influenced their choices.
