Identification of Cultural Groups
I am an African American, belonging to the Catholic faith. In addition, I identify with Christianity, African descent, and the United States nationality. Growing up in a black family instilled in me a value for our cultural heritage as close friends and family appreciated their practices, music, and documentaries and valued the essence of a community and respect for elders. The catholic church also influenced my identity because I grew up in a religious family, and faith was our weapon for fighting our battles from childhood. Moreover, living in the United States of America has molded me to be a better individual with character. This nation values the rights and freedom of citizens and embraces diversity and equal opportunity for all.
