Response 3 Student Name Institution Course Professor Date School resource officers (SROs) have been distributed in schools throughout the United States to ensure the safety of learners and staff. Fisher et al. (2022) article analyzes how SRO perception of threats according to racial composition relates to inequality among students, school security, and differences in policing. It is evident that racial differences affect many aspects of school life, and one of the most visible areas is its impact on the gentrification of exclusionary punishment in public schools, as discussed by Pearman (2023). In Fisher et al. (2022) article, the authors classify school threats as environment-based, intruder-based, and student-based. Moreover, the perceptions of SROs are centered on the black race being a source of threat.
