Competence and Credibility of Intelligence Sources
Tangible evidence is the kind of evidence that can be considered as factual, realist, or concrete. This evidence can be touched or felt and contains an actual substance; an object that is tangible. On the other hand, a testimonial evidence has statements formed in court by witnesses and are given as proof of the discussion. The difference between tangible and testimonial evidence is only tangible can be physically held in one’s hand, while testimonial has no physical representation of the evidence. Since this is the case, both of them are sometimes used in different situations. For instance, if the matter needs either tangible or testimonial evidence, then one of them will be presented.
Tangible evidence is evaluated based on several factors like sensory defects, the general physical condition, sensory bias, and how long the observation took place. The testimonial evidence is evaluated based on testimony bias, influence among witnesses, demeanor, and truth serum.
The Baconian method is the observation of facts being a way to study and decipher natural occurrences. This is an empirical that Francis Bacon formulated during the earlier part of the 17th century. He formulated this method in place of the presented thought systems which are reliant on complicated guessing and naming of authority figures to establish truth.
