A qualified professional who oversees an organization's daily administrative and human resources (HR) tasks is a human resources (HR) assistant. They assist HR managers with recruiting, maintaining records, processing payroll, and offering clerical support to all employees (Ulrich et al.,2015). Human Resource is a fantastic job. It will help me positively impact people's lives, help the other employees, and develop the whole organization while creating a more equitable and diverse workplace. The HR department has undergone significant transformations, and employers constantly seek to add more personnel to the HR team (Ulrich et al.,2015). This is because employers have become more aware of the importance of attracting and retaining the best personnel for their workforce. This paper seeks to explore more about the Human Resources Assistant career.
I have a great sense of responsibility, and I find myself reliable, dependable, and trustworthy. This value is critical as it helps me meet my obligations on time while also ensuring that I conduct important given tasks in the organization. Also, I value financial prosperity, making money, accumulating wealth, and being financially successful. This value aids me in helping the organization achieve set goals and ensure that employees live a comfortable life because they are economically stable. In addition, I have a great concern for the well-being of others, their rights, and helping them whenever necessary. I seek to achieve equality, mentor, and ensure that the welfare of others is advanced. Besides, I challenge myself to achieve set objectives, work hard and improve my overall performance. This value is a source of motivation as it aids me in putting extra efforts to improve performance, help others and contribute to the organization's success.
Building strong relationships with employees and members of the organization has had a positive impact on my career. Ensuring employees are empowered and creating a viable working environment ensures that employees feel valued and supported (Snell et al.,2015). Accurate communication, listening, and handling workplace conflicts are excellent tools to earn the employees' trust and loyalty and motivate the people around me. This significantly contributes to my success in my HR career.
HR assistants are involved in almost all services and programs relating to the organization’s human resources division (Ulrich et al.,2015). Their roles and responsibilities include compiling, keeping, and updating personnel records in both soft and hard copy. Also, they record data of each employee in the organization, such as their addresses, earnings, attendance patterns, sales and production levels, and dates and reasons for laying off. In addition, they monitor documentation concerning other employees, such as selection, recruitment, training, performance appraisal reviews, and employee leaves. HR assistants should inform employees or job seekers of the company's personnel policies, benefits, and procedures, and the HR assistants do this. They also assist with the administration of employee benefit programs and workers' compensation. Moreover, HR assistants answer relating to exams, eligibility, salary, benefits, and other relevant information in the organization.
HR assistants primarily work in the office setting, and this position sometimes can be one with some stress (Snell et al.,2015). It involves doing many activities at a time and helping many people at once. Due to this, HR assistants must be able to multitask and work well under pressure. Furthermore, they help in job organizing, planning, and prioritization by creating explicit goals and plans to organize and complete work. Additionally, they give the seniors and other employees information through phone calls, mail, or other forms. Similarly, they interact with computers by programming, writing software, creating functions, data entry, or managing information through computers and computer systems (both hardware and software). Moreover, they develop and maintain interpersonal relationships through creating and preserving constructive and cooperative workplace interactions with people.
My know-how of concepts and methods for personnel selection, training, compensation and rewards, corporate governance and industrial relations, and human communication strategies are among my qualifications in Personnel and Human Resources. In addition, I am familiar with administrative and clerical procedures and techniques such as word processing, file and document handling, forensic linguistics and transcribing, form design, and other organizational processes. I am familiar with the customer and personal service concepts and procedures.
