Psychologists and Child Custody Divorce and custody battles can have a profound impact on children. In many situations, the cases can overlap juvenile and family court due to allegations of abuse and neglect. For example, if parents are divorcing and one parent alleges child abuse and domestic violence, Child Protective Services may open a case to investigate the allegations. Then, the case may be open in juvenile court and family court at the same time. For your discussion, respond to the following: Describe at least one therapy role and at least one evaluator role a forensic psychologist may serve in such a case.
