Introduction
My experience in the communication and project management course has significantly supported my efforts to expand my expertise. I have gained information by critically analyzing numerous topics through the assigned readings, projects, and discussions. As a result, I have made connections between multiple concepts I have utilized to analyze my success and mistakes. As a result, I believe that analytical skills are the most valuable asset, particularly for graduate school. Course readings and class discussions can challenge and shape knowledge acquisition and its application in different career paths.
Learning Microsoft Project was important for me and compelling because of its dynamic planning features, which let users oversee every project plan, preference, and dependence, which is important for project delivery and management. It was also significant because I learned that while Microsoft Project can help manage projects of any size, it is more useful for bigger and more complicated tasks. MS Project has successfully managed conventional projects utilizing the Waterfall technique (Abazi, 2017). It may display all project outcomes on a single timeline with a logical workflow. Learning how project managers use MS Project to handle risks and challenges within the Project environment was crucial.
My ability to draw linkages with previous lectures, workshops, and experiences has made reading and facilitating discussions with critical analysis exciting. For instance, discussions aim to respond to a few questions typically associated with the primary articles or reference material. As a result, each participant's thoughts are supported by additional references in each submission. Since every learner contributes fresh thoughts and concepts that advance the conversation, it is engaging and educational. This approach has been thought-provoking because it allows for further exploration and consideration of the central idea with each posting.
Since there has historically been a focus on reading-based learning, it is more challenging for learners to understand that they may learn through a discussion. International students not engaging in discussions as part of their academic program will likely experience this phenomenon (Czeropski, 2020). I believed that having discussions in my courses at ABC University would not help me advance academically or professionally.
