What is the Relationship between Implicit Bias and Cancel Culture?
Most people want to know the relationship between implicit biases and cancel culture. Implicit bias is unconscious stereotypes and altitudes that shape people's behaviors and judgments even without noticing (Donald, 2021). On the other hand, the cancel culture involves publicly shaming, calling out, or even boycotting people, primarily online, after they engage in unacceptable or offensive behavior. There is a relationship between implicit bias and cancel culture, which is evident by how people's unconscious judgments cause harsh and impulsive responses, primarily apparent in the cancel culture. In some instances, implicit culture has caused some people to interpret words and actions negatively. Some of the factors include race, cultural background, and culture. There have been instances where implicit bias has caused disproportionate reactions, leading to a digital environment where making prompt judgments causes people to overlook the context.
