Leadership Development Plan – Part 1

Throughout this course, you have learned about prominent leadership models and theories, along with strategies to apply the theories and models to your organization. In this assignment, you will begin designing a leadership development plan for a member of your organization. Envision the plan as a model your organization can use to develop employees with leadership potential. For this assignment, you will develop a rough draft outline of the leadership plan, meet with your colleague to collaboratively fill in some facets of the plan, and write a reflective paragraph about the process. Step 2 Use the ACE Library Links to an external site. and other scholarly sources to research leadership development plans typical for your type of organization. Valamis Website Privacy PolicyLinks to an external site. Step 3 Create a rough draft outline of your leadership plan in a Word document. In the plan, identify the type of organization, and the title (not name) of the person you’ll work with to create the plan. Include your organization's vision and mission so development activities can reference them for support. Add section headings, the information you have so far, and short descriptions of contents yet to come for sections of your plan. Include in-text citations as appropriate for any resources you use. Step 4 Meet with your colleague to begin collaborating on the elements of their leadership development plan. Take notes in your rough draft outline. Thank them for their time and remind them of the next meeting. Write a reflective paragraph at the end of your leadership plan draft outline describing the process so far and your next steps. Step 5 Submit your rough draft outline of your leadership development plan with notes from your meeting and your reflective paragraph. Ensure you have not included personal identifying information about your colleague. Include APA-formatted in-text citations and a reference page for any sources you used.
