Case Study Assignment Five: CEMEX
What are the challenges facing CEMEX as it integrates with Rinker?
CEMEX has not yet finished the integration with RMC. As a result, RMC was still consuming most of the IT processes that needed to be used to integrate Rinker. Starting the process before winding up with RMC would strain its IT resources. Furthermore, CEMEX has not finalized migrating the company's legacy systems to new platforms. This means that integrating with Rinker will have to be based on the old systems. If CEMEX waits until it migrates to the new systems, this will delay the integration with Rinker.

Since the model was developed in 1992, it needs to be updated to reflect current developments. Using it in the case of Rinker means the company would be using a relatively outdated model.
