BRANCH ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
The focus of this paper is to come up with a new job opportunity for the Mayo Bank limited where I have been working for the last two years before terminating my contract. The new position that has been approved is branch accountant. The bank has been entirely depending on the accountants from head office which makes the work inefficient bearing in mind that the bank has branches in over 50 countries across the globe. The creation of this position in every branch will reduce the work load on the cashiers especially those attending clients dealing with RTGS (especially electronic transfers).
The branch accountant will report to the cash officer as the immediate supervisor. The employment terms for this employee will be a contract spreading over a period of 2 years. The contract is subject to renewal depending on the score of the client as indicated in the KPI (Key performance indicator) report card. The laws of employment dictate that recruitment should be done via a fair interview. The working environments for the post will be enhanced via the provision of the needed materials and machinery.
The responsibilities and duties of the branch accountant will be similar to those of the accounting department in head office. The accountant will be in the operations department but in the back office section. The branch accountant will be responsible for creating the permanent records of transaction for every year in their specific branches which upon reconciliation will be sent to the accounting department in the head office.
