Abstract, Discussion, Reflection Assignment Final draft
Essay Instructions:
I have attached a copy of the Draft for this writing. Please finalize it. Here are the requirements for the final version.
Please post the final version of the Abstract and Discussion assignment here. Look below to see an example of a successful abstract, discussion, and reflection linked.
Consider your audience: the first paragraph (abstract, 50 words) is to quickly provide an overview of the internship. You can use this paragraph in cover letters, in a portfolio description of your internship, and as an initial script during an interview. You can use the second paragraph (discussion) to provide more details about the experience, also in an interview, if you are asked to explain your experience more.
Also here is a critique from the professor on the draft version.
"This is a strong draft, and you are definitely on track with the content and organization.
Review and edit your writing carefully - you have the draft in place, so now you can craft the actual paragraphs. Make sure your lists have the correct parallel structure, for example "solving network problems, maintaining equipment, coordinating with ..." etc.
Try to make the tone slightly more formal - "is handy" might not be the term you would use in a job letter. Keep the language crisp and informative. "The practical work experience helped me develop..."
Your reflection was perhaps the strongest part of this assignment - yes, you are honing your job narrative."

Abstract
At McLeod Regional Medical Center, I completed 320 hours of internment in its department as a Help Desk Analyst. I have practical experience in IT support, computer and IT hardware installation, and Cybersecurity measures. In this role, I achieved technical expertise, improved my interpersonal skills, and learned the practical implications of IT in maintaining the healthcare systems' functionality.
Discussion
While working for McLeod Regional Medical Center, I was responsible for carrying out Help Desk Analyst tasks, being the face of IT support at the organization. It involved making the necessary diagnosis for a dysfunctional network, repairing hardware and software problems, and addressing tickets issued to the help desk of a large-scale healthcare facility. These tasks demanded technical skills, neatness, and quick and satisfactory responses as I had to manage day-to-day work.
During my tenure, I dealt directly with Tier 2 Desktop Services, providing a second level of support for tasks like installing desk-side hardware and managing system breakdowns. I learned how to solve problems using the stoic method, which means I could incorporate technical and management skills since all solutions needed teamwork. To improve the efficiency of our team, I developed instructions regarding frequent difficulties. I created an outline that could be quickly followed by the following intern or team members next time specific problems appear.
One of the discoveries I got from my internment was testing the IT security network, the firewall settings, and the antivirus. As an employee, I collaborated with other employees ranking in the organization to establish the security measures that guard the hospital's networks. It further enhanced my passion for Cybersecurity because I was privileged to see how those measures are vital to protecting patient information from exposure to outsiders. This led me to look into cybersecurity and IT busin...
