Rationale:
As a manager, I think that one of the ways through which the company can create consumer awareness regarding new and already existing products is through the use of the different types of advertisements. The advertisements are made to provoke a certain feeling to the consumer depending on the type of advertisement, and therefore, this presents how language is used in the mass media to bring change in individuals. This task will discuss the various types of advertisements and the manner in which they bring changes in people's minds through mass communication.
Television advertising is one of the mass media communication that is known to reach a lot of people. A television advert is characterized by appealing pictures about the product being advertised o that they can capture the attention of the viewer. As well, they also contain s strong and convincing language that presents the benefits that the consumer will get from using the product. Therefore, a combination of pictures and a strong message is known to be a great way of using language in order to change the minds of a consumer regarding the various products of the company. The frequency through which the advertisements will be aired is also a contributing factor. Memorization and the ability of a consumer to remember a certain product is greatly affected by the number of times that they watch a particular advert or listens to certain words. As a result, this makes it easy for advertisers to have an impact on the intended audience because the advertisements can be aired over a long period without changing the message in it.
As well, the company can use newspapers, magazines and any other forms of written media to create consumer awareness through advertisements to bring various impacts on the consumer. Written language is easy to understand as compared to a text that someone has listened to. It provides the individual with an opportunity to carefully read all the details of the advertisement as many times as possible until they understand the meaning. The advertisements might also contain pictures that are made to convince the consumer into purchasing the particular item. The best part about written advertisements is that the consumer does not have to memorize all the details such as the online contacts that they can use to order. Any time they wish to purchase the product, they can always refer to the advertisement to ensure that they have the right information.
