I do trust that Greenspan was very realistic about business ethics possibility. For a firm to realize success, it is essential for the firm to uphold ethical values so that it can be able to attract new customers while maintaining the existing ones. Besides, business ethics helps in establishing healthy work relationships with the employees, creditors, shareholders, and suppliers. This enhances the firm’s public image to stakeholders. Also, business ethics helps in improving firm performance because the relevant stakeholders are motivated in collaborating with the firm. This is because the stakeholders are assured of a fair dealing through integrity and honesty. In his speech, Greenspan says that success satisfaction a firm can obtain is only through engaging in business dealings that are honed and also through strict adherence to the view that for a firm to gain, then clients that the firm deals with should also gain by having a fair dealing.
Most of today’s business people are honest and exercise fair business values. On the other hand, I believe that the small percentage of corrupt business people can taint the truly hard and honest work of America’s businesspeople. In his article, Greensand articulates that in the event a significant percentage of businesspeople violates the trust that is based on the mutual interaction with the customers, the American economy as well as the court system will be sampled into immobility. The core ethical values that I am planning to follow in my career are; integrity, social justice, competence, dignity, achievement which includes doing only what yields positive results, autonomy, where I wish that in my career to receive no or little supervision, creativity or coming up with my own ideal, and challenge that involves completing tasks that are novel or difficult to me, and an influence or having the capacity to affect other people’s ideas and opinions.

The difference between the two cases is brought about by Lane’s desire to try and cancel his misconduct. Lane tried deceiving the court and decided not to provide answers to the court. I do agree with the reasoning of the court because it teaches attorneys that in the event, they can out plagiarism, their illegal misconduct will be unacceptable. Also, the court’s reasoning is a lesson to the attorneys that if plagiarism is detected, their law practicing certificates would be nullified and they would be barred from law practice.
