My Grandmother’s Profile
Describing a person with words is never enough, especially when the person is close and dear. Describing them in our own words makes it possible to understand and relate to them more amicably. It helps to place one in their shoes and understand why they are the way they are, why they do the things they do, why they handle tragedies and successes the way they do, and their innermost regrets and successes. In this essay, I will create a perfect picture of my grandmother, using words, even though they can never be enough for a special person as she is.
My grandmother is a black Jamaican, seventy-five years old, still strong and living to the fullest. She is the eldest person in my family, and she values family ties. The myth is that Jamaican women are overly passionate about loving and valuing their families. They are also very loyal and can never back off from defending their family and loved ones to their last tooth. The concept being Jamaican, she is a passionate woman and loving towards us, her grandchildren. Physically, she is tall and has beautiful straight black hair. These characteristics are common in Jamaican women of African descent, where my grandmother's roots are found.
Additionally, my grandmother had ten children who she raised to be brave, strong, kind, and highly pleasant. She raised me, and honestly speaking, growing up while looking up to her was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Black Jamaican women are known to be strong and fearless and can do anything for their children. She is a good storyteller and tells us stories of her parents and how well she was raised. Ultimately, she is a great and strong mother because of the way she was raised and was fixated on her when she was young. She also attended school, where good values and confidence were instilled.
