The purpose is of this presentation/discussion is to research a national or international organization and experience differing perspectives, views about the work that the organization performs.
All of the organizations are working on issues facing children and families either in Canada or internationally. Some of these issues include: poverty, education, homelessness, natural disaster relief, access to food, water, care of children in orphanages, child soldiers, and children of war, special needs or others.

There have been a number of organization across Canada that have been involved in social initiative to help improve the lives of Canadians. One of the main organizations that has been trying to make a difference even amidst resistance from government agencies, is the Canada Without Poverty. This is a charitable organization that is also not for profit, non-partisan, and federally incorporated and is dedicated towards eliminating poverty across Canada ("What We Do | Canada Without Poverty", 2016).
