The initial step to develop my educational and career goals is by creating a goal that I need to follow throughout the journey. When people create goals, the goals direct them into working towards the right direction. If an individual does not have a goal to achieve, they can be easily distracted in developing their educational and career objectives. A goal plays an important role in keeping someone focused. In this case, getting through college algebra would be less challenging because my goal would be to build the necessary knowledge for progressing in my career life. When creating such goals, it is important to ensure that they are measurable and achievable. For instance, I would plan on having a certain GPA halfway through my college education. Such a target would make me work hard to achieve the set GPA.
The second step would be to utilize the available resources in meeting my set goal. My educational goals would require me to locate the tutoring center on campus and learn how to use it. These areas would play an important role in ensuring that I meet my educational goals, such as achieving the desired GPA. I would also seek additional resources from the library and online to ensure that I have all that is needed to succeed academically. These resources would also help me build my career. I would research more about the job market for my field of study to identify the information that I need to equip myself with before joining the job market. The lack of the necessary resources could compromise my goals, and therefore, it is important to ensure that I have all the necessary information. Securing such resources would not be a huge challenge because I have learned how to maneuver challenging situations.
The third step would be an evaluation of goals achievements. When people set goals, they do not always meet them. Such happens because the person no longer monitors the progress of achieving the particular goal. In this case, I would always ensure that I am on the right path towards my goal achievement.
