Assignment Description

Toward the middle of the 19th century, concerns with over use of our natural resources developed. Americans began to develop an appreciation of wilderness that led to early expressions of concerns about its destruction. In your own life, what aspects of nature and natural resources are you most concerned about losing? Discuss why they are significant to you and our society.

Rather than using objective analyses to highlight the importance of natural resources, consider answering the following questions:

Why is this loss of natural resources personally important to you, compared to other issues?

Who will be the most affected by this change/loss of natural resources, and how does that make you feel?
