The United States (U.S.) court systems are different from that of other countries. Federalism in the U.S. leads to two court systems that are all under the supreme court. I consider the U.S. court systems to be effective. The criminal and civil cases, which form the bulk of court cases, are assigned to the state courts, while rare cases involving constitutionality, state disputes, and treaties of the U.S. are left to the federal courts. The U.S. court systems must have been structured to mirror the country’s system of government.
