Use of Elephants on the Battlefield
Elephants were useful on the battlefield in ancient times through active fighting. The elephants would be trained to trample enemies. Through the guidance of a rider, the elephants would intelligently fight enemies by picking enemies and throwing them. Due to their large size and the creation of their armor, the elephants would easily enter enemy zones and fight and barrier the enemy used (Royal Armouries – YouTube, 2018). In addition, the elephants would be used to fight on the battlefield through the use of tusk swords. The swords would be used to fight against enemies, the same as a human warrior would.
