As a student, I understand the importance of helping people with mental health conditions lead healthy lives. However, I would have several concerns when interacting with mental health clients, such as failure to provide holistic care and how to ensure the client and I are safe. According to Li et al. (2022), mental health clients have diverse needs, including financial and material, which are paramount to their recovery, and my concern is that I might not be able to meet these needs for them. In addition, people with mental health issues are more likely to be violent than those without (Li et al., 2022), and I would be concerned for my safety as well as that of the client.
