Roles of Different Stakeholders in a Strategic Planning in Healthcare
Strategic planning in healthcare typically involves a number of people with diverse ethnicities, various ages, multiple race groups, and different experiences. An interdisciplinary approach involves team members from different disciplines working collaboratively, with a common purpose, to set goals, make decisions, and share resources and responsibilities. Strategic plans are designed to build an inclusive environment, plan for the equity of the organization, and to develop objectives to support viability. Examining external industry competition aids in gauging and designing performance measures to meet prospective goals.

Strategic Planning in Healthcare
In healthcare, strategic planning revolves around comprehensively analyzing strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities that face a health organization. It involves stakeholders from different ethnic backgrounds and age groups and with diverse experiences. By identifying areas that require improvement, an organization can strategize in order to achieve its desired objectives effectively and timely. In addition, strategic plans help create a viable and all-inclusive environment besides examining the external competition. In a word, strategic plans enhance the overall performance of health organizations.
Roles of Different Stakeholders in a Healthcare strategic-planning Process
As indicated previously, a strategic planning process entails the input of various stakeholders who play varying roles to make it viable and successful. The stakeholders include boards of directors, whose function in the overall process is indispensable. To begin with, boards are deeply involved in establishing strategic plans, setting goals, and monitoring the entire process (Nash et al., 2009). In other words, they ensure that healthcare organizations become dynamic to move in tandem with shifts in policy, technology, regulation, and reimbursement, among other changes.
C-suite employees form another group of stakeholders involved in strategic planning. Their principal functions include centrally focusing on enabling employees to navigate healthcare systems easily and effectively. This, in turn, helps organizations to attract and retain top-quality employees. In addition, they customize healthcare programs and create a culture of health (Diab, 2022). More importantly, they ensure that the strategies of an organization are compatible with its established policies and plans.
Further, physicians are also integral in strategic planning in health organizations. Their functions include providing insights on emerging challenges in healthcare systems. They also provide critical information that enables strategic planners to understand the areas they should prioritize to make their organizations more efficacious, productive, and competitive.
