Evidence-Based Data Supporting the Intervention Studies have proved that the head of the bed (HOB) kept considerably high reduces the rate at which VAP occurs. For instance, Lakra (2022) found that an angle of HOB between 30-45 degrees would provide an optimal level for minimizing risks of aspiration, thus justifying this nursing intervention in efficiency regarding prevention from infection caused due to aspiration. This is an appropriate recommendation regarding the cost and the technicality level of this paper's nursing intervention, which is easily manageable and effective for an ICU setup to improve patient outcomes. Influencing Factors Several factors would influence the implementation of this intervention: patient characteristics, healthcare staff compliance, and the ICU infrastructure. Patient mobility and behavioral patterns might be influenced by gender-specific positions regarding this elevated head of the bed (HOB) position.
