Find a peer-reviewed original research article, published within the last five years of a RCT (randomized controlled trial) that includes a dietary intervention in which participants are provided instructions for a particular dietary pattern to follow for a certain amount of time. Note: this should not be a single food to include and should not be a supplementation intervention, although supplements may be part of the study. Examples of dietary interventions include calorie-restriction, FODMAP restricted, ketogenic, etc.
3. Answer the following questions regarding the study:

Research Objective
The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of two supermarket and web-based dietary intervention strategies (Strategy 1 and Strategy 2) against an improved control condition for enhancing dietary quality scores assessed through the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) score in a freely living community population.
Research Hypothesis
The study hypothesized that participants who received the supermarket and web-based dietary programs (strategies 1 and 2) would experience superior dietary quality (DASH score) improvements compared to participants in the enhanced control group. The researchers predicted that strategy 2, which featured shopping tools alongside home delivery services, would demonstrate superior dietary quality advancements compared to strategy 1, which was limited to store-based instruction.
Null Hypothesis
The null hypothesis was that there would be no significant difference in dietary quality (DASH score) between the intervention groups (strategies 1 and 2) and the enhanced control group and no significant difference between strategies 2 and 1.
Participants
A total of 247 people (139 women and 108 men) took part in the research study, dividing them into three distinct groups: strategy 1 with 100 participants, strategy 2 with 101 participants, and the enhanced control group with 46 participants. All participants were aged 21 to 75 years, with a middle value of 58 years. The research population consisted mainly of female subjects (69%) who were married or lived with partners (64.8%) while working full-time (53.4%, bachelor’s degree (63.6%). Studied participants needed to exhibit one cardiovascular risk variable among hypertension or obesity or elevated non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. They were also required to be the primary food planner for their household and an existing shopper at one of the study’s Kroger supermarket locations.
Dietary Intervention and Control Treatments
Intervention Groups
Strategy 1
The participants received one-on-one educational sessions with dietitians in person, during which they learned about the DASH dietary pattern. They also received guidance through individual sessions using their food purchasing data from their store loyalty card. Six teaching sessions about healthy food decisions in stores occurred during the three months as part of the intervention.
Strategy 2
The participants in strategy 2 received education about both in-store training and learning to use online shopping tools, food delivery services, and meal-planning applications. Like the first group, this group obtained six educational sessions and instruction helping participants select healthy foods and prepare meals using internet-based resources.
