One of the determinants of success for any organization is the staff. No organization can exist without staff, as they ensure the work is done and goals are achieved. Staffing is an important aspect of organizations and should be done thoughtfully to yield maximum results. Staffing differs from one company to another depending on the mission and type of the organization.
I got an opportunity to work at the Hilton Hotel. The staff members are carefully selected through vigorous interviews to ensure the employees are experienced and best in their work. The staffing is hierarchical and departmental. By hierarchy, at the top is the CEO, followed by a team of executives who lead various functional groups like finance and human resources. Each department in the hotel has a team leader, and departmental members are organized according to one's area of specialization. The departments include kitchen, service, and housekeeping. The human resource management team plans for the current and future human resources needs to determine the type of labor needed during recruitment. Human resources in most organizations coordinate employee training to sharpen employees' skills and ensure productivity (Cirino, 2020).
